Young Artist Society Presents First Show This Saturday, 9/18

South Bay Artist Collective’s Young Artist Society, for artists aged 15 through 25, will present its first show at Resin Gallery in Hermosa Beach tomorrow, September 18, from 4-9pm.

In this exhibit, the creative youth of the South Bay will celebrate collaboration and connection with art, live music, and refreshments. The event will include performances by several local youth bands, including The Meerkats (5-7pm) and Raccoon Union (7-9pm), as well as live painting demonstrations and more. Admission is free and families are welcome.

The Young Artist Society (YAS) was founded by a group of teen artist volunteers who help teach the Indivisible Arts program offered by the South Bay Artist Collective. Audrey Whitehead, Sasha Lerman, and Gwyn Dowdee created YAS to expand the opportunities given to young adults in the art world and showcase their talent. This show celebrates the young creative community of the South Bay and features up-and-coming talent.

The Young Artist Society is eager to expand its membership and include artists from all media. YAS encourages the public to attend its first show to learn more and get involved in the movement.
