This Mothers' Day Weekend in El Segundo

Happy Friday! Have you dropped by the estate sale at The Jewelry Source yet today? You still have time! It goes until 6pm. Grab Mom a little pretty, shiny something while you're there! Also tonight is the always-a-good-time Ed! Gala in Chevron Park, live music on the Deluca Pasta back patio, karaoke at The Standard Station, and this weekend's first showing of Song of the Islands at Old Town Music Hall. Details and times for all of these events are available in our app and here.

Tomorrow morning is the Roundhouse Aquarium's Fun Run for the Oceans, beginning at the aquarium itself at 9:30.am. At 1pm tomorrow, ESMoA hosts a free artist talk featuring Joan Takayama-Ogawa and Marc Trujillo of the EAT experience.

Sunday is Mothers' Day! You've got some options for celebrating right here in town. Check out Sausal's jazz brunch with bottomless mimosas in the morning, or take Mom to the Automobile Driving Museum for a ride in a beautiful vintage car! It's also "Take Your Mom to the Garden Center" day at the International Garden Center on PCH, where moms and their families can stroll the beautiful grounds, ask the friendly staff questions about gardening, and leave with a little something special.

Got a mom in your life who loves live music (like the two moms who run The Scene)? Consider taking her to Old Town Music Hall in the early afternoon for a concert by Janet Klein and Her Parlor Boys, or to El Segundo Performing Arts Center (in ESHS) in the evening for a very special El Segundo Concert Band 20th Anniversary performance. This lively concert will honor both Mothers' Day and Edie and Mike Rice, two longtime El Segundo musicians and music educators who are----unfortunately for all of us who know and admire them----moving to Pennsylvania this summer.

Enjoy the weekend, everyone!
