Prepare To Be Dazzled
The 7th annual Estate Jewelry Sale + Exhibit at The Jewelry Source is a gem of an event.

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to travel back in time? To see what life was like as a celebrity from a bygone era? This month you can, through the magic of rare estate jewelry. Downtown El Segundo’s iconic jewelry store, The Jewelry Source, and its owner, Brenda Newman, are proud to announce that on May 10th, they will host their annual Estate Jewelry sale, showcasing rare and unique pieces owned by celebrities and Hollywood royalty.
Brenda has owned the Jewelry Source for 35 years and has a special affinity for estate jewelry, although she’s never carried it as part of her inventory. About 20 years ago, Brenda became a member of the International Jewelry Association (IJO), and the organization helped her, over time, connect with estate-jewelry vendors. The result is that Brenda now hosts this annual estate-jewelry event every spring, bringing to Downtown El Segundo a sparkly display of one-of-a-kind pieces priced from a few hundred dollars to several thousand. Over the years, Brenda has seen clients buy vintage bridal items, brooches, charms, watches, and celebrity pieces at this event.
Speaking of celebrity pieces, Brenda certainly has her favorites from years past. These include a watch previously owned by John Wayne that reads “It’s 5:00 somewhere” and a set owned by Elizabeth Taylor that includes a large peridot-and-diamond cuff bracelet, earrings (pictured above), and a necklace. Brenda once featured a watch Barbra Streisand gave Jon Peters and a very special solid-gold life-sized hot dog in a bun that Robert Goulet gave his aunt as a way of thanking her for always feeding him and his friends when they were young and poor. At this year’s event, Brenda will showcase pieces previously owned by Bette Midler, Hugh Hefner, Prince, Shirley Temple, and the king himself, Elvis Presley.

With its large stones, stunning use of color, large sprays of diamonds, gleaming yellow and white metal, and nature-inspired designs, estate jewelry is indeed a treat for the eyes! Don’t miss this year’s event, taking place at The Jewelry Source on May 10th from 10-6. Feast on appetizers and champagne, enjoy the opportunity to see some rare pieces, and perhaps even leave with a treasure of your own.
