More Things To Do in El Segundo as June Begins!

The first weekend in June is full of so many unique local events here in 90245, it's worthy of multiple blog posts. :-) In addition to the fun cultural activities I listed yesterday, consider adding one or more of these events to your weekend schedule:

-El Segundo High School Band Concert, Friday, June 1, 7pm, at the beautiful, roomy ESPAC (at ESHS).

FREE admission!

-Crochet Workshop led by 16-year-old Kamala McDaniels, a dance superstar and talented crocheter, Saturday, June 2, 10am-1pm at Holly Socrates Gallery on Main St.

Ms. McDaniels was recently accepted into the Moscow School of Dance and is raising money for travel costs via this workshop. She'll teach you the basics of crocheting, and you'll leave with your own creation. Register first here.

-Wear Orange-Popsicles in the Park, June 2, 10am-noon, at Rec Park. Free family event with popsicles, music, and local officials sharing how to make communities safer. Presented by South Bay Moms Demand Action.

-The El Segundo History Room is open this Saturday, June 2, 1-3pm. This beautiful space is tucked away at the back of our local library and is worth an hour or two of your time! Old photos and documents are meticulously organized and available for your perusal! Call first, please: 310-364-0117.

-Soap-Making Workshop, Sunday, June 3, noon-1:30pm, at Holly Socrates Gallery on Main St.

A local mom and creator of natural soaps and other personal products instructs participants on how to make beautiful, homemade soaps to give as gifts or keep for yourself. Register first here.

-El Segundo Chamber Recital Series: Segundo Saxes, Sunday, June 3, 3-4pm at The Little Theatre at El Segundo High School. Beethoven's 3rd Symphony will be performed by the Segundo Saxes saxophone quartet. FREE admission.
